WOW WOW WAH NAILS

I am a bit of nail freak. People always stop me and ask if my nails are my real nails. I've only had acrylics put on once because my little sis asked me to get them done with her, and when they started to grow out I was mortified to see a dent in one nail. It took six months to grow out, and I have never done it again. As a teenager I had an amazing ability to paint my nails in all sorts of designs, a talent that for some reason vanished with adulthood, perhaps I had much more time on my hands - and nails. Ha ha. My Head of Year would be waiting with a bottle of nail varnish remover and tissue for me to go in to her office and remove it all. She eventually gave up as I would just re-paint them when I got home. Biting, picking and all that yucky stuff people do with their nails is a big no no for me, nails are one of the best accessories we can have...

Before London Fashion Week this September I put together an article about nails, including the latest Chanel colours, Essies neons, Minx nails and my love of the Gaga's embellished nails (in her Poker Face video the nails were dazzling). I held back on publishing the article because the Minx nails I had done at Lost in Beauty Primrose Hill started to peel back within two hours and I wanted to include photos of tried and tested nails that looked great, not a mess. I was just about to book an appointment to be re-Minxed at Hari's on Brompton Road when low and behold I opened Vogue's October Issue to see nearly the exact same feature that I wrote in a two page spread! I couldn't believe it and after I huffed at myself for holding back (lesson learnt) I figured that if I'm thinking the same as British Vogue that's fabulous.

The feature made a point that having no nail varnish on can be unqiue however I feel naked when my nails are unpainted unless nude nails is really appropriate for the look. My dilemma has always been that I don't like to wear the same colours as the people around me and this is the reason why I am super dooper excited about WAH Nails at Selfridges!!!!

WAH Nails will be creating exclusive Louis Vuitton and Eredem inspired nail designs for Selfridges customers in addition to their usual transformations. You can book yourself an appointment in the Selfridges pop-up salon from Thursday 5th til the 11th of November by sending an email to wahnails@selfridges.co.uk. (Yes the 5th as in from today!) Be sure to take along a piece of jewellery or material if you want them to create an inspired look, or just go along and see what happens.
